 Installation
Installation is carried out by our fully experienced and professional fitters. However, the following preparations are recommended for optimum results:
a) The floor surface should be firm and level.
b) It must be clean and dry
c) Any gap between skirting boards and floor surfaces should be filled in with mastic sealant as necessary.
d) The new carpet must be installed on a good quality underlay.-
Estimating
It is advisable to have any flooring professionally fitted. As part of our service, we offer to come out to your location to accurately measure and assess your requirements. From this we can provide you with an estimate for any work involved.
When you receive an estimate we will advise you on:
- appropriate underlay - including pads on stair treads and risers.
- Extra work such as clearing the room, easing the doors, type of fixing accessories, door plates etc.
It is worth bearing in mind when choosing a carpet, the width in which it is made. A range which is produced in a number of widths will help to reduce wastage and so be more cost effective. Our experts can advise on this if required.
Underlay
It is highly beneficial to invest in a quality underlay.
The use and type of underlay helps to increase the life of a carpet and prevents the pile from being crushed underfoot or damaged by furniture indentations. It also provides effective insulation against underfloor draughts and creates a generally warmer and quieter feeling to the floor adding to a sense of luxury. These benefits are particularly pertinent to busy areas of your home for example on stairs where wear can be considerably reduced.
